We embarked on the development of sales and distribution automation software catering to the needs of Pharmaceutical and FMCG companies. During this journey, we presented a software demo to a well-established pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. Impressed by our demo, they expressed interest in customizing the software to meet their specific requirements. We promptly initiated the customization process and delivered the software to align with their business needs and proof of concept (POC).
We maintained a consistent dialogue with the company, regularly showcasing the evolving software to ensure it met their expectations. For eight months, the project progressed smoothly. However, without prior warning, the company ceased communication and even stopped answering our phone calls. Later, they informed us that they had acquired a software solution from India and would not be proceeding with our software.
This abrupt decision left us in a financial bind, considering the substantial resources and effort invested over those eight months. This unfortunate experience isn't isolated; it reflects a broader issue in Bangladesh, where established companies often hinder rather than support the growth of domestic startups. Such challenges hinder the development of a thriving startup ecosystem in the country.
